“Meredith’s paintings of dogs, or indeed any other animals, are astonishing. She seems to capture the soul of her subjects. We had Meredith paint our brother’s two dogs – Roxanne the bull terrier and Spike the mutt – for his 40th wedding anniversary. He and his wife are still amazed. The only difference is they don’t bark – yet!”

“Our dogs rate higher in the family pecking order than I do. Meredith has captured three of our dogs lovingly and also my brother and sister’s beloved dogs as presents from me. The service is personal and the result lives on forever.”
Bruce, Warrawee, NSW

“Meredith is able to create a tangible memory of a beloved pet that will last a lifetime. Her pastel works of my cat and dog are genuine representations of their souls captured through the realism of the eyes. She has a very professional and caring approach to her portrait commissions.”
Alison, McLaren Vale SA

“Not only was I thrilled by the artworks Meredith created for me, but I was moved by her ability to connect with the meaning and relationship I had with the subject or theme of the artwork. Meredith’s approach with me throughout the process was genuine, heartfelt and enjoyable. I love the artworks that she has created and I appreciate their special value to me every time I look at them.”

“I ordered two portraits of my dogs last year for my mother’s birthday. The whole family was so happy with the way the portraits turned out; they beautifully captured our dog’s personalities and little quirks! Meredith was a lovely person and we will definitely recommend her to others.”
Gretta, Canberra, ACT

“We had a portrait of Woody, our old dog, done from an old photo. It was just fabulous, it just brought her back to life. Then we had a portrait of Rocky – Meredith came and took some great photos of him, then she did the picture. Well again – fabulous, now they hang on the wall together and I say good morning to them both as Rocky is no longer with us. We now have a new dog called Sam and we can’t wait to get her portrait done.”
Marg, Koolewong NSW

“I had the good fortune of being introduced to Meredith some time ago and when the opportunity arose I asked if she would do a portrait of our American Staffy cross, ‘Chief’. She agreed and after communication about photos, visiting her studio and seeing the wonderful portraits of other animals, we now have our portrait in pride of place in our home. Every step of this special process was done professionally as Meredith really likes to capture every detail and she has a great deal of pride and passion in her work. The portrait is extremely realistic (my favourite part are Chief’s eyes) and we have had many positive comments from friends. I would recommend Meredith to any animal lover looking to capture a realistic portrait of their special pet/s.”

“Re. the wonderful gift from my family of my German Shepherd, Gaby. When I opened the wrapping and saw her staring at me, I was that close to tears I could not say anything. People who have known me for many years would find that unbelievable. I was so emotional inside that I could only nod to my family and go to another room, sit down and stare at the face of my old friend, my best mate. She is now on the wall before me where I see her from the time I get up and the last face I see when I go to bed at night. From the day we picked Gaby up at eight weeks old to the day she passed away, the only time we didn’t spend together was when I was in hospital. All my life I have had contact with dogs, the biggest one being when I was in the Antarctic and ‘supervisor’ of some 26 huskies in 1964. But nothing got anywhere near the ‘feelings’ Gaby and I had for each other. Once again, thank you, thank you, for a marvellous picture with those beautiful ‘thoughtful’ eyes.”

“It was great to see Meredith Gilmore exhibiting with us again, her delicate portraits of dogs almost seem to be able to talk to you they are so lifelike.”
